Always Think Joyful

The morning does not ask for reasons,

yet light arrives and finds a way in.

So let the mind, through shifting seasons,

choose joy before the day begins.

Not joy that waits for things to settle,

not joy that's earned by getting it right —

but joy you carry like a kettle,

warm and ready, held in the light.

Think joyful when the code won't compile.

Think joyful when the plans fall through.

Joy is not naive, and it's not denial —

it's the lens that still lets you see it through.
